The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has been making significant strides in education through its Benazir Taleemi Wazaif initiative. This program has already enrolled 11.8 million children in schools. From July to March of the fiscal year 2024, 3 million children joined under this scheme.

To date, BISP has distributed Rs 63.3 billion since the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif initiative began. From July to March of the fiscal year 2024 alone, Rs 23.4 billion were disbursed. This initiative aims to support Universal Primary Education as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The government launched a Co-Responsibility Cash Transfer initiative in October 2012 to provide additional quarterly cash to BISP beneficiary families for primary education.

Starting from July 1, 2021, the program has expanded to include secondary and higher secondary education and is now operational nationwide. The main goal of this initiative is to promote education by providing regular cash transfers to support human capital development. For a child to enroll in the program, B-form or Child Registration Certificate (CRC) verification through the NADRA database is mandatory.
